I need some huge advice
If you raise your commissions price by a lot ( Like 100 points or something like that ) and if you feel the old commissioners ( who's commissions aren't done yet ) don't.. how to say.. "deserve" the commission to be done anymore cause
1) Price has been raised
2) Your style has drastically improved than the old style which they originally paid for
3) Your art is 10 times more worth than the small price they paid before ( Plus I'm in need of money and need to pay for something soon and that minial amount just won't do )

So uh.. would you note them and ask them to pay the difference ( between the old price and new price ) Or do the commission anyway?

Just asking a professional opinion cause I'm absolutely torn ;/;  I don't want to upset my commissioners by asking them that but at the same time I feel unsatisfied by the amount they have paid a year ago ( Believe me, it was a very small amount ) but again, they have waited over a year for their commission to be done

Nnnngg help me senpai ;A;

As a commission artist it's unfair to your commissioners to have them pay for a price that you inflated. It's never wrong to upgrade your prices if you feel the previous charge wasn't worth the work but it is wrong to ask your past commissioners to pay the difference. Seeing as they have already payed for what was agreed upon in the first place, and you raises prices should have no affect on them (you don't see stores demanding you pay more if you've already bought something)

The only thing you can really do is to refund them and hope to make up the loses from new commissions. Or to complete the commissions as promised. o:

Also, you should never keep someone waiting for over a year for the piece! Try and get things done in a timely matter, especially if you might already be spending what you haven't truly earned

Some advice:

- Complete commissions timely, or give regular updates on the progress of their commission. No one should wait for over a year to receive something that can be done relatively quickly if the time was spent wisely and professionally

- Never charge a past commissioner the difference of what your new commissioners will be paying. Even if you feel it's not worth it now, that's what you agreed with back then and it's unfair otherwise!

- Finish commissions in a timely matter! Any chance you get to work, take it. I know some days you may just feel you don't want to and other days you may just be busy or sick. But definitely it should never take months to complete a piece. No procrastinating!

- Try not to spend any money/points that you did not earn through completing what was owed. Otherwise you may find yourself in a situation where you are struggling for the motivation or funds to give a possible refund if you can't complete their piece.

- Never take on more then you can handle! I know you may want the most that you can get but know your limits! Too much work can be stressful and overwhelming. Work with an amount you feel comfortable with to be the most efficient.

- Make use of your free time!

- And most important of all, enjoy the work that you do ;w; Whether someone payed little or more. Your work should never effected by the price payed, that's just frosting on the cake. You should enjoy making the piece just as much if not more then what was payed

Omg yes now my mind is a LOOOOOT yes frooble-frabled ( Bam. Made up a word within a second. )
I love you to bits! And I totally get you. And the reason I haven't been able to complete them in the time I /actually/ alotted to do it is cause last year I uh
pretty much got hospitalized thrice and my whole school schedule was disrupted due to not attending a month or two's worth of classes. And cause of that my tablet was taken away by my mom so I could study and.. KAY I JUST BLABBER TOO MUCH IM SORRY B'I

But since I don't like dissapointing people I'm gonna do the commishes no matter what the price.
Before, although it feels horribly wrong, I used to do it for the points.
But you've taught me to enjoy doing them rather than being forced to. Which is so much more better. ;v; :heart:
That's totally what I'm gonna do. I'm sorry if I seemed selfish about it. I was just purely confused. And again sorry for not greeting you with a polite "Hi, how are you?" I guess the confusion got to me. Haha. I do hope you're doing well. And thank you so much again for being a big help to me ;u;
